TygerD
How do you hunt an underwater cache, obvisouly(sp) you don't take your gps over the side with you. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Having never done one, would I assume you have your GPS take you to the spot, put on your gear and dive there. Quote Link to comment
+donbadabon
There are different ways to do it. Some have you dive to a known point underwater (like a wreck) and look for the cache, or coords, there. Others have you start at a known location, and send you off with a heading and kickcycles. Quote Link to comment
+CharlieP
For the underwater cache I found, I anchored the boat near the cache coordinates, then took a range and bearing from the boat to the coords, went into the water and swam on the surface to the coord position, submerged and began searching. If the water was more than 15 feet deep, I would use a float to mark the zero position, or move the boat anchor to that position. Quote Link to comment
+cudlecub
I own a scuba cache and shot the coords topside. There's only been one finder in the year and half it's been in existance though. I have the offer out there to be on site for input for those unfamaliar with the waters here. The finder of my cache was on top of it 2 minutes after hitting the watter. It's sometime taken me longer than that to find a traditional cache. Quote Link to comment
