+nfa Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 (edited) Hi, While waiting for it to warm up enough to go caching with my son this morning, I started noodling around with a roll of duct-tape that was just sitting around, waiting to be wasted. I used 2 foot strips of the tape overlapping and stuck sticky-side to sticky-side (so the sticky side of one side was covered by overlapping tape on the other side) to make a sheet of duct-tape that was 18" X 24". It folds down to nothing, cost almost nothing, will probably outlast my backpack, and made a great pad to kneel/sit on when Ben and I went out into the snow to hunt for a cache...nerdy I know, but sorta cool anyway. just wanted to share... +Henki Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 A duct tape sit-upon - I guess you really can use duct tape for just about anything! Quote

+Thrak Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Actually not a bad idea. Many times I've wished I had something to kneel on when the ground was wet and/or muddy. Quote
magellan315 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 You should check out Prom Dresses made form duct tape. The 2003 winners had a very innovative design. I used to put wallets made from duct tapes into caches. Quote
+GRANPA ALEX Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Wonder if one could make a water-proof hat by taping up some old baseball cap and havingn it handy to use if the sky opened . . . could be a knee pad other times? Quote
caledonia Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Well, why not? I can see where it would be nice to have a dry/clean place to kneel, for a child to rest, or to spread out swag to look through it. By the way, here's a link to another neat duct tape product: http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/gear/5f21/ Quote
