+The Blorenges Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Can't get into geochat on any of the links - tried this one last http://hokesters.co.uk/geochat/. I get this message - Unable to connect : java.net.SocketException : Software caused connection abort: connect Now.....it used to work fine! But I've just had my laptop 'got at' by our IS department. Now on a new domain and had McAfee firewall updated. Can't edit the settings of the firewall (locked down) but have disabled the service so it doesn't start. Java uptodate and pop up blockers all off. I don't want to install Mirc as its my laptop and its MrsB who uses the chat so its convenient to go in via IE. Any techsperts out there who can help? Thanks Chris (MrB)
+TMM-Sarah Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Sometimes, I get that message, if I just leave it trying to connect it eventually does... just don't be tempted to refresh...it sometimes takes 10 mins. Tried both the hokesters and geochat site just now which both appear to be working fine. Sarah (Missing MrsB)

+Jaz666 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 A small technical issue with the default server the geochat java app uses tonight, connection times can take a minute or two.
+Alice Band Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 It seems that the mIRC client has nailed shut my skylight entrance into the room and various attempts with both Java and mIRC have failed
