+Woody's Wanderers
Final one, then I'll leave you in peace! Is there anywhere that I can convert decimal lat & long to WGS84 (e.g. 51.356736 to 51 degrees 21.404)? Also can grid references be converted to WGS84 as well? Thank you kindly! Quote Link to comment
+purple_pineapple
I've recently discovered that a fairly quick way to do this is on the GPS itself. If you change format (read the manual on how) then you can have them all displayed in whatever format you like! Its not the easiest, but not far off! Quote Link to comment
+adambro
I would suggest Jeeep.com for converting coords. I don't really work with grid references but Streetmap will give you them and other formats. Quote Link to comment

alistair_uk
Mathematically round the value to get degrees and multiple the remainder by 60 to get the number of minutes. Repeat with the minutes value to get the number of seconds. Quote Link to comment
alistair_uk
..and I almost forgot to mention that WGS84 refers to the datum and not the way the location it is written. The mathematics to covert a datum is a little more complex*. * This is a significant understatement. Quote Link to comment

To convert from degrees etc. to OSGB / BNG, or vice versa, I use my GPSr, or nearby Quote Link to comment
