Snipe315
First let me say hello to everyone! I found out about the new Garmin units with Transflash (microSD) card slots yesterday. Since this has been something I've called, written and emailed complains about the lack of to Garmin for quite some time I was thrilled to hear about this! I immediately ordered a GPSMAP 60Csx, 1GB microSD card, and City Navigator V7 DVD. It will be replacing a GPSMAP 76 and a GPS 12MAP that I have enjoyed. I also have a ANCIENT Magellan Meridian XL (1st generation GPS). The GPSMAP 60Csx looks like it will be the perfect handheld unit for me. I look forward to learning more about geocaching and all the other awesome fun stuff a unit like this will enable. This site and geocaching.com have been AWESOME in helping me learn about all the fun stuff I've missed over the years of not fully using GPS. Quote Link to comment

Wanted something to download into, and the radio function which comes in handy while hunting or fishing. Having a blast with our GPSr's and new hobby! Quote Link to comment

+az_pistolero
Started out a bunch of years ago with: Garmin GPS II+ (great battery life). This was way before the whole Selective Availability change. Hey, if you couldn't find your camp from 50 feet away you were in real deep doo-doo. My ATV came with a Garmin 76s (I like the internal real compass, though it's a drain on the battery) Bought myself a new Garmin GPS V cause it has the same profile as the II+ and I had the Touratech shock damping (VERY nice) mount on my ATV and some RAM window and handlebar mounts that fit this form factor. I wanted the routing and the better-than-nothing topos on the GPS. We use a Garmin StreetPilot 2720 to get us close to most of the caches. From there we move to one or more of the handhelds, sometimes on the ATVs. Quote Link to comment
