RabidJack
It seems by accessing service function (from the menu screen click right left right left) 72, there's a way of increasing the frame rate of the LCD screen. But it seems you cant simply change the frame rate number without also changing the clock select number to complement it. Has anyone fgured out and useable combinations besides 14 and 14 64112? +Muddler
I do not usually see this kind of information discussed in these forums. You may want to try over on the Yahoo Groups site for the Explorist. They regularly discuss these types of issues. There may be someone here that can give the answer but you may get a faster reply at Yahoo. Edited February 23, 2006 by Muddler Quote Link to comment
ttwo1969
maybe try lowering the 'screen quality' setting? this may increase the refresh rate? Quote Link to comment
+GOT GPS?
Couple ways to increase frame rate, would be to reduce map detail, and to select North UP instead of Track UP, also changing the zoome level too. It might slightly help to knock off WAAS on the CODE 03 secret menu Quote Link to comment
RabidJack
what is the screen quality setting? is that the same as the map detail setting? p.s. just visited and now I'm back, yahoo groups has an awful message board system. I didn't find any more details though. But upon further thought, maybe the frame rate isn't what I should be concerned about, it's the screen refresh rate which does seem to increase when you trim out unnecessary stuff. Thanks for the advice. Quote Link to comment
