stutzismydog
I had a misfortune when my Meri/Plat came loose from my RAM mount on my ATV while crossing a stream, a small amount of water got inside. I probably did something stupid when I opened the case to dry the water inside and four small wires that connect the serial port area on the back of the GPS came loose from the circuit board, I don't know the the color connection sequence in order to try and re solder the connection. I resealed the GPS and it still works, but I can't download/upload as the connection to the circuit board needs reconnection. Any body have a diagram for this connection ??? Quote Link to comment
+embra
You might try asking that over at the Yahoo Meridian Users group. I kinda doubt that anyone outside Magellan knows the answer...although maybe someone would take their unit apart and see if they can observe on your behalf...maybe even take a photo for you. stutzismydog
Thanks embra for the suggestion about Yahoo and having some one take apart a perfectly good GPS for a photo is,......beyond the call, but then again you never know. Quote Link to comment
+embra
Well, it is a little beyond *my* sense of duty, but those who've had to dissemble to reseat the battery springs have indicated that it's not too big a deal. Some the people in the Yahoo group seem to crave excuses to conduct exploratory surgery. Quote Link to comment
+EScout
I opened my Meridian Green and here is what I saw, top to bottom on the PCB: Wire Color Pad Letter Blue E White G Orange T Yellow R I think E is for power positive, G for ground, T for Transmit data, R for Receive data. This is a different model Meridian, but if the colors and pads match, I would think all is the same. Good Luck. Quote Link to comment
stutzismydog
EScout~ Thank You for your response and instruction, I will try and re-solder the connections and hope that it all works when reassembled. Quote Link to comment
