littlejim Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 No doubt loads of others will now announce they have already done this... I did a good walk in the Lake District last October, picking up one geocache en-route (Piglets Pot - GCQ10W, route still to be published on geohikes.co.uk - sorry Dave ) and found another 'cache' on Dale Head containing no swaps - it wasn't listed, so I forgot about it. Yesterday, a new cache was published... on Dale Head. seems that I had spotted a "Summits on the Air" radio hams cache on my walk. This has now been published on geocaching.com so I can claim to have found (and entered into the log book) a geocache, 3 months before it was published Any other 'precache' finds??? littlejim Quote
rutson Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I reckon if you've logged your find in the book, then go for it! Quote
The Golem Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I've done the same thing when looking for the Nuts About Cumbria series - I found one of these SOTA caches nearby, signed the log and left a keyring karabiner. I'm just waiting for it to appear as a geocache then I can claim a find!!! Quote
wildlifewriter Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Any other 'precache' finds??? Last year I teamed up with some others here, to find a cache that hadn't been listed (and probably never will be.) The aim was to recover a number of travel bugs which had been purloined from a nearby TB hotel, and placed in the cache. The expedition was a success. -Wlw Quote

wildlifewriter Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 How did you know where the cache was then We didn't know the position of the cache... ... but we knew the position of the TBs that were in it. -Wlw Quote
