Clan Riffster
IK, I'm still not sure if I'm gonna be able to make the ONF event. Lots of "honey-do's" to take care of. If I can, I'll take 7. Quote Link to comment
+TeamGuisinger
NICE! I wish that was my car, I could paint for days. Quote Link to comment
+Thrak
I need to get a combo lock that I can reset the numbers to the amount of pennies glued to the one box. I know, tedious. How many pennies does it take to get to the center of this cache? I have heavy duty combo locks like that. I can set the combo to whatever 4 digit number I want. I really doubt you could get THAT many pennies on a can though! Quote Link to comment
+Thrak
I may as well show off my cans. Brian, Where do you get the granite flake paint? Quote Link to comment

+TeamGuisinger
That would work. I know I've seen them in stores, but now that I'm looking, they're eluding me. Quote Link to comment
+the hermit crabs
Where do you get the granite flake paint? I think it's Fleck Stone spray paint. I've bought it at Wal-Mart. (Make sure you put the "Clear Kote" on it for outdoor use.) Quote Link to comment

On my test I tried to pry one off, it bent the penny first before the prybar finally popped it off. No worries. And what if some muggle comes along and glues an extra one to it? Quote Link to comment
kcart
Camo job for this cache. ©¿©¬ Quote Link to comment

+TeamGuisinger
And what if some muggle comes along and glues an extra one to it? Hopefully, I didnt leave any open spots for that, but it would suck. Quote Link to comment
+Teach2Learn
Let me know how the granite works out for you. I primed & painted an ammo can like yours last summer. Never got around to placing it, but left it out in the side yard as a test. After 1 or 2 "Ohio snows", most of the paint had flaked off. My stone flecked cans have held up well. I used something called ClearCote to seal the containers. To briansnat: Nice job--I like the stone flecked/ClearCote combination. Did you still need to use a gray primer first? Quote Link to comment
+atascadero
First off, I have to congratulate everyone on their great looking cans. Wow! I hope others show theirs off! Here is my humble attempt. Quote Link to comment

What's the material? Looks like Mossy Oak print cut into leaf shapes. I LIKE IT! Quote Link to comment

+atascadero
What's the material? Looks like Mossy Oak print cut into leaf shapes. I LIKE IT! Yep, you nailed it! Mossy oak cut in oak leaf edge patterns (meaning not full leaf cut outs but representations on the edges) and that strait on shot doesn't do the camo tape justice. It really breaks up the lines! It's Little Big Horn Break-Up Tape in the Mossy Oak Breakup pattern. I removed the tape as it wasn't for permanent use, in my opinion. I then cut the excess matting from under the leaves and simply glued it where I wanted it. Very easy. Edited March 6, 2006 by atascadero Quote Link to comment
+atascadero
Pablo Mac, That is the best camo job ever!!! Without a doubt! Quote Link to comment
CamoCachers
weve done something similar to that except we made a complete bag for the can out of the realtree material that has cuts in it so it dont lay flat, its "spiky". i dont have any pictures of them, ill have to snap some on my next maintenance round. it works very good Edited March 6, 2006 by CamoCachers Quote Link to comment
ParentsofSAM
Here are a few of my cans (thanks in advance): Wow now just find a nice forum spot to hide that cache in and no one will ever find it! Quote Link to comment
+DanOCan
I'm a little late to the party, but I just completed my first attempt at painting a camo ammo can. It's not nearly as nice as the ones here, but for a first attempt... Quote Link to comment
+chuckwagon101
Love the camo job! Now that's the kind of cache I like to find! Quote Link to comment
