+Yellowvette214
I just received a Lowrance IFinder Go! for my birthday. It is my first GPS system, but I've used JasonD's Garmin ETrex LegendC. I have looked around online, in the manual and also just playing around on the GPS itself, but I can not figure out how to log coordinates as "found". Is it even possible on this version? What is a good site I can go to for a thorough tutorial on the Lowrance IFinder Go!? Thanks in advance, Erin (Yellowvette214) Edited February 14, 2006 by Yellowvette214 Quote Link to comment
+miles58
You can d/l the full manual from Lowrance: http://www.lowrance.com Quote Link to comment
+jasond
Thanks for the manual. She read it "cover to cover" and I skimmed and searched and couldn't find the example to her precise question. On my Garmin Legend C, there's an option to note a geocache as "found" so it won't clutter up your main Geocaches menu. (It gets moved over to the Waypoints menu). Yellowvette214 (and I) want to know if there's a way to do something similar with the Lowrance iFinder Go. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Airmapper
No, that is not an option on Lowrance units. I believe you can change the waypoint icon to something which will let you know it is found. That is the method I use to keep track of caches found/ unfound. Quote Link to comment
+mantis7
If that feature isnt an option on your GPSr, I highly recommend (if you're not already using it) GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife) to organize all of your waypoints on your computer. Then, you can filter out found geocaches, and just load the unfound ones into your GPSr every time you go hunting. Try GSAK for free! http://gsak.net/ Also, you can run PQ's (pocket queries) and specify that you only want unfound caches as well. PQ's are essential! http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/ Good luck! +Airmapper
Mantis didn't mention that you need to be a paying Premium Member to do that. It is not bad, $30 yearly or $3 a month, but I don't think it is "essential" to have Pocket Query's. Pocket Queries wouldn't be as helpful for you because your i-Finder Go is not designed to accept waypoint downloads. It has been proven you can force it to, but it requires computer coding skills, as well as a cord that cost 40% of the GPS purchase cost, or a homemade cord. Quote Link to comment
+mantis7
Airmapper is correct, PQ's are only available to premium members, but what he didn't mention is that my first suggestion (GSAK) is free and will help you to organize your caches in more ways than you can shake a stick at. +Yellowvette214
Thank you to everyone who has replied. I would rather not pay for anything, so I think I'll stick with the "changing icons" suggestion. Quote Link to comment

I'm not sure you can use it with the iFinder GO. The software is compatible per se with Lowrance, but I don't think you can interface the GO series with a computer, that is one reason why it is one of the least expensive GPSr to buy out there...... +FishKrazy
Thank you to everyone who has replied. I would rather not pay for anything, so I think I'll stick with the "changing icons" suggestion. We have 2 Lowarance Ifinder H2O units, we use the icon method & works great. Mine is a color unit & I use the treasure chest icon as not yet found & the traffic light icon as found. Pick the ones you like & go this route. Quote Link to comment
