60csx Sounds

I know this has been discussed before, but I looked and could not find the topic it was discussed in. Anyway, I just received my new 60CSX and at start up I noticed the sounds, alarms, buttons, alerts all are very noticeable quieter. I'm guessing about half as loud as my 60cs, it's like the volume was turned down or something. Is there a setting for the volume? If so I cant find it! Help!!

Several of us new X owners have noticed and mentioned this. I wrote (emailed) to Garmin and they replied that it was being passed on to engineering. If you would please email as well to: techsupp@garmin.com it will help get our observations and comments heard.

Another bug is that i am missing a list of maps on the unit.

The list is so small, that only one map is visible.

BETTER: right picture (A bigger list would be more comfortable.)

The Beeps are actually louder in my new 60Cx, than my older 60C, so this is a little backwards from what alot of people got with their new X units.

That’s odd unless you are running a different firmware version, mine is V2.50

Got Vers 2.50 on the 60Cx and Vers 4.50 on the old 60C

I have V4.0 on my 60cs. I guess I was thinking it might be a firmware issue, which could be easily corrected by a firmware upgrade, but perhaps not since we both have V2.50 on the 60CSX and yours is loud and mine is much quieter that my 60CS. I'll see what Garmin has to say about it, I have an email on the way..................

I noticed this as well and emailed Garmin. My 60CS is louder than my 60CSx.

I would be happy to help you with this. That is true. Some of the sounds of the 60cs unit are louder than the 60csx. However, when you are comparing, please make sure to compare exact tone to exact tone as some tones are louder than others.

 

But, there was a hardware change and the volume of the tones on some of the tones show a difference.

Hi, I just received my 60c, please post what the determination (firmware) is - this way I know whether to hasten the upgrade, if one's available & not already in my unit.

I personally prefer LOUDER tones while driving, I don't need 'em while hunting.
