lamarieves
It looks like the 1 g micro sd are available--Is Garmin sticking to the 512 limit ?? Also if I use the sd adapter (little to big) can I use my sd reader/writer that I use for my camera to download maps -kinda like the Garmin sd writter-seems it would work-- I am looking to get a larger micro sd for my 76csx and trying to make the right decision the first time-- Any advice will be appreciated Quote Link to comment
+team fuzzybunny
There is no 512 limit. Garmin says that the limit on memory depends on the limit of the card being used. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
Actually, I think Garmin is saying that it has been tested and works with cards up to 512MB. They aren't saying it works with 1GB cards, because they haven't tested them yet. They aren't saying the *don't* work with 1GB cards. Would you like to be their Guinea pig? Quote Link to comment
+tourinct
I didn't see anything on the web site beyond 256, though I know there are 512 cards available, am looking for more than the 32 I got with the legend as I want to get at least the NE corridor from CT to DE loaded for this summer. Currently Western CT and Orlando to Daytona FL has the 32 filled though I don't need the FL part anymore, but also did'nt see any info on memory card mgt, delete maps, memory available, etc... thought I haven't looked in mapsource yet. robertlipe
Buy.com put the 512MB MicroSD (nee "Transflash") on sale this morning for $40. (It slays me to pay shipping and handing on an item that's smaller than a postage stamp.) Quote Link to comment

+PhntmArcher
I can't find any micro sd 1b in the US. I have seen a couple of sites from over seas, but nothing in the continental US. Quote Link to comment

To be clear to anyone that's following the subject being discussed, the above linky link is not MicroSD, it is the original SD. Quote Link to comment

HighlandPC
An Ebay store ("fastmemeoryman", I believe) has 512 microSD chips for $39.00 shipped. Comes with an regular SD-size adapter (for use in cameras, etc.) and a case. Got mine on Monday...works great. Quote Link to comment
