Silly Look
For cachers in Bellingham area who are interested in aerial maps for caching check out the City of Bellingham's GIS Map & Data Center homepage. GIS Map & Data Center Year 2002 has the best resolution. Quote Link to comment
W7WT
Amazing aerial photographs. Is this available for other cities? I live in Bremerton. Thanks Dick Quote Link to comment
Silly Look
I'm checking but it does not look good so far. It looks like the state has an Aerial Photograph department, but the images are provided at cost. You would have to check with the individual citys to see if the post their GIS/Aerial photos online. +blindleader
Bremerton: The boundary for the Seatle Urban area terraserver coverage runs just East of the Warren Avenue Bridge at UTM 527900E. They are in color at .25m/pixel, were taken in 2002. They can be viewed using either Google Earth or USAPhotoMaps Pretty much the entire US is covered with 1m/pixel B&W photos taken in the mid nineties. Edit: A few of the areas covered by the .25m/pixel color are Seattle, Anchorage, Portland, SanFrancisco with Silicon Valley, Washington DC, Denver including Rocky Mountain National Park. I don't know if there is a definitive, up to date list of them but the easiest way to find out if an area is covered is to zoom in on it in Google Earth, or go to the known latitude of the place in USAPhotoMaps and try to download them. USAPhotoMaps is my prefered tool for this, but if you want to collect these maps, you'll need a gigantic disk drive. The thirteen hundred square miles of the Seattle area takes well over10GB. +runhills
Many of the Washington Counties have the GIS mapping which do quite well with mapping and photos once you learn how to use the features. The following should work for Bremerton. http://kcwppub3.co.kitsap.wa.us/website/ParcelSearch/ Quote Link to comment
Elde
Bremerton: The boundary for the Seatle Urban area terraserver coverage runs just East of the Warren Avenue Bridge at UTM 527900E. Which leaves about 80% of Bremerton and about 90% of Kitsap County uncovered. Quote Link to comment
Mearth
Extremely cool! But now I have a long list of weird looking places to visit just to satisfy my curiousity. Thanks SL! Quote Link to comment

Silly Look
Here is San Juan County Assessor's office website. San Juan Couty Aerial Link Click the "I Agree" it will bring a map of the San Juans up. To the right are the layers, one of which is "Aerial Photos" check the box then start zooming around the San Juans. Edited February 7, 2006 by Silly Look Quote Link to comment
