+DavidMac
Standard disclaimer about the search feature being down applies... I'm currently sitting on several ideas for waymarks in more than one category, for which I already have all of the required materials (pictures of the sites, etc). But, I'm waiting to post them because the sites are highlighted by existing virtuals on gc.com that are all owned by others. I emailed one of the virts' owners, sending them a link to the appropriate waymark category and asking them if they would mind if I waymarked their site. The response I received was essentially, "If you haven't added it already, I would like to." However, it's now been 3+ weeks and they haven't posted it, and I don't want to nag them about it. I haven't asked any of the other virts' owners, but here's my question: is it acceptable to waymark someone else's virtual? Or should I give them a chance to add it first, then log a visit? +Touchstone
I'd go ahead and log it. Sounds like you gave them enough time to respond. If someone makes a big deal of it later (which I doubt), you can always offer to graciously step aside and Archive the Waymark so they can claim it. I think you did your part in trying.
