+StagsRoar Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 (edited) I would envisage this category as containing significant Landmarks or relics either made or identified by Explorers and Pioneers of a countries early history. This would not be open to any historical marker throughout it's history but rather only to those objects or landforms that played a part in the colonization or mapping and identification of a particular area or country in the birthing of it's history. +StagsRoar Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 some thoughts on this would be good!
+chstress53 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I like this category. I logged a virtual of Columbus while in Costa Rica, and I think this type fits better as a waymark. In the park near the seawall was a monument to Christopher Columbus who first visited this village in June 1502. This was Columbus's forth and final voyage across the ocean to the New World 500 years ago, as Columbus and his crew were searching for the eastern coast of Asia.
