Metal: Antique Bronze Trackable: Yes, as a personal coin (prefix PC) with it's own unique icon Price: EUR 7.00 plus international shipping. Number of coins made: About 400 Regular Edition (Antique Bronze), 100 Limited Edition (Antique Silver), 20+ Special Edition (Antique Gold) and a few of some other metal , only for trade. The coin will be minted before the end of Febrary (in fact, the design is at the minter as we speak, but since it is New Year in China, minting will not start before next week). However, since this is an event coin, the coins will ship after the event on March 11. Sales for this coin is only for the Regular Edition. About 100 Regular Editions coins will be available for international purchasing. When they are gone: they are gone! At the time the sale open I will post the ordering site here. Keep posted. Please do not email me for pre-sales orders! Edited January 31, 2006 by team_wolfje Quote

+team_wolfje Posted January 31, 2006 Author Posted January 31, 2006 With only 100 coins available for international sales, is there going to be a limit to how many one person can get? Yes, the number of coins per team has a maximum of 10. This was also on the original sale and we will keep this limit the same. Quote

+Doc-Dean Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Wow, the shipping is more than the coin! Its a really cool looking coin but the cost with shipping is outrageous. If anyone in the US is buying a bunch and wants to split the shipping costs, email me. Quote
+Fundamental Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 How come there is already "international" people in the order list if you start taking international orders tomorrow? Quote
+team_wolfje Posted January 31, 2006 Author Posted January 31, 2006 How come there is already "international" people in the order list if you start taking international orders tomorrow? Yep, that's because there are some really clever people out there ... This is our first coin, so be gentle with us. Here's the real-life story: We started out to make an event-only coin. Because we wanted our own icon, 500 coins would have to be made. Those number of coins we cannot sell on the event itself. The page in the first place was for people at the event only and was all-Dutch. Then there was an unautorized post in this forum and and in the German foum "leaking" the Dutch-only page. Guess what: we got a lot of international entries in the forms... Duh. People filled countries in town fields etc. We did not know the coins were that popular. So we put all those on the hold list... In the team we argued about this: should we cancel all non-Dutch orders or not? In the end we tried to be reasonable and given the persons who filled in the form or email'd us about this the benifit of the doubt and give them the choice to priority-order the coins. Priority-ordering is happening all the time: see the Finland coins, National Parks and a lot of others. So don't be mad !! I've missed out on a lot of coins due to priority ordering or different timezones. Needles to say: the next time we make a coin we will be a lot (A LOT) more carefull about the whole thing. Including looking into a better and cheaper way of shipping. I'm not crazy about the shipping costs either. However: it IS a beatuful coin! And that's what it's all about. Quote

It' s always nice when someone notices the details Can you all guess who made the coin production ready? In Dutch there is a saying (which contains some words that would be filtered out I think) which translates: "To put a feather into ones behind...". But I never heard of someone who did this for himself until the last post of KarelKraak Quote

+Ladycacher Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Ok, I will not be in town or near a computer tomorrow to get one of these coins. My son is sick which is why I have not been around the forums much. We went to the specialist today and more tests were ran, plus we have two more doctors tomorrow, which is why I will not be around. Without going into to much detail here, he has a large mass that he has had for a year now. We found out today that the mass is larger than it was a year ago and the medicine they have had him on is not working. Can somebody please order me one of these coins? These coins are the only thing keeping me sane . Quote

Just wanted to give you a heads up ---> Antique Brass and Antique gold are the same finish basically. You might want to switch the gold to shiny gold instead. Quote

+team_wolfje Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 ...Antique Brass and Antique gold are the same finish basically. You might want to switch the gold to shiny gold instead. We'll see if we can change that. Since it is Chinese New Year over there, maybe it will be no problem. Quote

+team_wolfje Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 (edited) Who is minting your coins? OakCoins. No problem at all and very quick in answering. The coin itself is beeing minted in China (offcourse). The only real problem we have had until now is shipping costs from us to you. Edited February 1, 2006 by team_wolfje Quote
+GeoBrowns Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I am not sure what the process is but can a portion of the order be sold thru Oak Coins for shipping from them? Quote
+team_wolfje Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 I am not sure what the process is but can a portion of the order be sold thru Oak Coins for shipping from them? We will surely change another way of shipping with our next coin. This was a quick-quick-quick process. The event is right around the corner and our timetable was very strickt. Doubtless to say we learned a lot from this one . So if (and if !) there will be another coin, things will be different. Surely the shipping will be different. If you find the coin or the shipping too expensive I'm very sorry. I can assure you we are not making money on this coin. I think it will even cost us some money . But nobody is forcing this coin up to you (other than maybe a coin addiction ). Quote

Yeah, I would personally help out as a hired gun to help with the packaging and U.S. shipping if you wanted to try to go that route. It's probably a bit late for that now though. Oh well. --Marky Quote
