+lostndazed Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Anyone know where to purchase camo tape in London Ontario? Quote
Curious George Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I know that Crappy Tire carries it - you could also try Novacks....it's a pretty neat store. Quote
where the wild things are Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 yep, Canadian Tire sells it. Check the hunting section. A hunting/fishing type store will probably carry it too. Quote
+lostndazed Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Thanks, I was in Cdn Tire yesterday but I guess I didn't look hard enough. I'll give it another shot. Quote
+northernpenguin Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Believe it or not, I've also found the stuff hiding in the Outdoors (Hunting) section of Wal-Mart stores lately. It's not "Duck Tape", it's another brand but it seems to be working well for me. I've taken to mixing the Walmart tape and the Duck Tape for a nifty effect. Slightly different coloring and in nature, uniform stands out more. Quote
+TrimblesTrek Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I've always found the camo tape in Canadian Tire in the aisle that has Glue, Masking tape, etc. Usually on the bottom shelf. Quote
+JDandDD Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I've always found the camo tape in Canadian Tire in the aisle that has Glue, Masking tape, etc. Usually on the bottom shelf. That's where it is in my Canadian Tire. Its made by Duck tape and they make a variety of colors including a black that works well when hiding in dark spots. JDandDD Quote
+knitter Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 We get ours at Princess Auto - believe it or not! Quote
+Geofellas Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Canadian Tire SKU is 75-0065-8 - at my local store I couldn't find it on the shelf but their website said they had it in stock so I asked at customer service and they fished it out of the stock room for me. Quote
+lostndazed Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Thanks folks....I got it at Cdn Tire on Wonderland. Would you believe I looked in Princess Auto, Wal mart, Cdn Tire, Forest City Surplus with no luck. I was beginning to think it was a mail order item. What a great resource this! Thanks again. Quote
+murfster Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 One tip I found handy was to make a small pack of it to carry. Simply fold some 4" back on it self, then continue to fold it over till you have a pad 1/4" thick.. that will be several meters. It fits well in pocket or pack. You can buy it that way but it is very expensive. ( I hope this makes sence? ) Murfster Quote
+parker2 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 You can get what they call gun tape from the army surplus stores. It is dark green, (similar to the ammo cans) and sticks better than the duct tape. I used to have a couple of rolls from when I was in the reserves, but over the years, I have used up everything I had. lol Now I have been getting into the art of spraying the containers. I start with a dark base cote of green or black. Then you get a leafy branch from a couple of types of trees, place them over top, and spray the various shades of green over top. parker2 Quote
+Stonebreaker73 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 (edited) I buy my black tape at the dollar store and it works fine. You can buy camo tape here if you are stuck Camo Duct Tape at 3 Geeks Outdoor Store Edited January 31, 2006 by Wallace River Quote
+cache_eater Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Camo tape makers and distributors have probably double their profits since Geocaching exist! Quote
Shortfuse & Sidekick Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Was @ WAl-Mart today and they still carry it Quote

We found our camo tape at the local (owen sound) hunting and fishing supply outlet' Hunters use it on their weapons to mask reflections. It is a bit pricy tho ... there must be a shop in London ... good luck Quote

+mrking Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Found the plastic duct tape style of cammo tape in Canadian Tire, but found the fabric cammo tape in Wallmart. I personally like the fabric tape as it is matte. Quote
+Couparangus Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Camo tape makers and distributors have probably double their profits since Geocaching exist! I'm sure Garmin & Magellan pay homage to the Geocaching website as part of their daily routine. When I bought my eMap in 2001 I should have bought some shares in Garmin at the same time. If I had, I would have tripled the money I put in. Unfortunately, I'm from the side of the family with no business sense. Cheers! C-A Quote
+jeff-trex Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 yup Canadian tire in the paint dept, Princess Auto, Wal-mart, I have seen it in a number of outdoor stores and army surplus stores. As Couparangus says the sales probably doubled since geocaching was started. Quote
