Arkansas Geocoin

The Arkansas Geocachers Association is pleased to announce that our 2006 Geocoin is far enough along in the process to take reservations.

The coin is to be 1.75 diameter antique bronze and can be seen here. You can view the icon, the coin (mouse over for the other side of the coin) and a description of the design elements.

The coins will be $9.50 each bagged, insured, and delivered to you.

The coin design and the icon have been approved by Groundspeak. We have ordered the die art but are stalled a bit by the Chinese New Year.

You can expect a Paypal invoice in approximately 3 weeks and the coins will be shipped less than 21 days after your invoice.

Paypal invoices not paid within three days will give the coin reservation to the next person on the list.

Reservations should contain:

Caching name

Real name

Shipping address

Paypal email address

Number of coins desired

Reservation email: arkgeocoin06@gmail.com

All proceeds go to support the Arkansas Geocachers Association

Sent email for 3. Thanks for offering these to us.

Two questions...

1. How many coins will be minted

2. What vendor is minting the coins

Answers:

1. 1000-1300 We are not exactly sure about this just yet.

2. Coins and Pins

Thanks

Nice price 9.50.

Really? Seems on the high side to me. At least the proceeds are going to a good group and not an individual, which makes it easier to accept. :D

Not high when they're adding insurance to the parcel ($1.35 for $50 ins). In fact, they're losing money on single coin purchases but making it up on those that purchase more than 1.

Nice Design. The picture makes it look like it could be Imitation Hard Enamel, which would be cool!

One item on insurance, you are free to do it, but... has anyone tried to get their money from the postal service before? It isnt an easy process. Save the 50 cents per order on the small ones and mint a few extras for 'lost' in the mail coins. Of course, on large orders, its a nice to have cause I wouldnt want to lose 100 coins in the mail!

Yeah, insurance adds to the total, for sure. Too bad there isn't an option to opt out of it. :D 99% of them make it through. Heck, we even got all of our Team Happy4Cats! (one was falling out of the envelope when we got it though.)
