Paperless Caching

This may have been addressed before ..please humor me.

 

I see advice on using a Palm PDA for paperless caching. Has anyone used or had experience using non-palm PDA's for this. I'm considering a Dell unit for other purposes and would like to know if the software that is used will work on the Windows based Dell.

GPXSonar works on the non-Palm PDAs but I haven't had any experience with it.

 

I use Cachemate on my older model Palm M500.

FYI, I just ordered CacheMate tonight, and there isnt a link for it on GC.com. You have to go through smittyware.com to order it.

Yes. I use gpxsonar in my Pocket PC (Ipaq). Works great. I use GSAK in my PC to take the PQ downloads and slice and dice the files to select what i want. Then GSAK create the gpx files that I copy into my PPC and gpxsonar shows the "cache web pages" on the PPC display.

 

Once you have a PPC, you can add autonabigation programs like Mapopolis to auto route from cache to cache by overlaying the cache icons using gpxtomaplet.
