forrest39
I'm wondering if it possible to create a route that I can load into a Garmin GPSr from downloaded track data. I realize that I can do trackback, but much of the resulotion is lost, especially if it's a windy track like a backpacking trip going up a steep hill with many switch-backs. Any ideas? Thanks, -4ist Quote Link to comment
GeoBobC
Why not just load it back as a track? A route is quite limited: 50 points, I think. A track can have 500 points. Quote Link to comment
+Klemmer
Sorry. Can't resist. My Magellan Meridian does it in the GPSr with a menu item entry. Works great. You might check the "backtrack" function. That essentially turns the active track into a route, and heads you back the way you came, at least on the 3 or 4 units I have used. Quote Link to comment

forrest39
I use g7towin, I had no idea it could do that! Thanks! I want to create a route so the deviation indicators work and you don't just have to 'follow the breadcrumbs' -4ist Quote Link to comment
