+TheMylrea's
With Pocket Queries, it seems easy to fill up all 1000 spots on my Garmin 60CS. Does the GPS slow down (mapping, navigation, anything?) if there are a large number of waypoints in the system? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
AFAIK, it doesn't slow down anything except listing waypoints, and that is hardly noticable. If you have the unit set to Find by Name so that it lists all waypoints, you can still hit MENU and type in what you are looking for. It sorts very quickly. Quote Link to comment
+bhorocks
i would think the only problem with to many waypoints would be a cluttered screen Quote Link to comment
ertyu
I noticed that as my track log gets longer the display update also takes longer on my Magellan. Makes sense, it probably has to search the entire log to see if it needs to draw any of it on the current screen. Quote Link to comment
+Zzyzx Road
My 600 slows down a little (noticably so) when I have a detail map of the roads on it. If you uncheck most details to show, that slowness goes away too. I am looking for caches, not gas stations, hotels, restaurants and such... But the cachepoints have not slowed it down any that I can tell. Quote Link to comment
