Bunkaroos
Just a quick question. I know that some rechargable batteries have a memory so the first time you use them you should run them dead before charging them. If you do this the battery will last longer. So do the new Lithium Ion batteries have a memory? Thanks for you input Kyle Lindstrom Quote Link to comment
+JDandDD
Li-Ion batteries do not have the memory problems that Ni-cads had. Neither do NiMH rechargeables for that matter. JDandDD Quote Link to comment
+WizCreations
It's usually true for all rechargable batteries of any type (laptop to AAA) that the battery should be dead before recharge. If it isn't, the life will shorten. Quote Link to comment

+drbugs
Here is a good link about how to maximize the life of LiOH batteries. Short answer is not really (ie you don't have to make sure they are dead), but with some exceptions (need to complete a complete charge/discharge cycle per month). Apple LiOH Battery page HTH! Photobuff
Go here and read all three parts: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/ Most of the common "knowledge" about different types of batteries tends to be old or flawed. Quote Link to comment
