Benchmarks In The Uk?

The benchmarks that are listed on GC.com are from the United Stated National Geodetic Survey (NGS) benchmark database. You will not find any of the NGS mark in the UK. The United Kingdom does have a benchmark network. The marks are called Trig Points and are maintained by the national mapping agency of Great Britain called Ordnance Survey.

You Can Search for Trig Points HERE.

Reading through the posts trying to answer a question we have at work about this...can we log trig points fromthe UK on geocache or should we use the separate system at www.trigpointinguk.com.

This site allows the logging of trig points and does also show any caches in the areas. I would like to know if we could start the logging on Geocache?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Groundspeak runs Geocaching, the Geocaching Benchmark site, and Waymarking. UK trigpoints can be logged in Waymarking in the UK and Ireland Trigpoints category.

There have been some interesting looking trigpoints logged over there I see. :)

Each trigpoint has a link to find nearby geocaches.

Have fun!

Hi there,

I am still unclear, can we log trig points on Geocache.com?
