+Cleveland Metroparks Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Does anyone know of a cache placed in a zoo? If so, could you let me know anything about it and / or which cache it is? Thank you, Cleveland Metroparks geocaching@clevelandmetroparks.com Quote
vagabond Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 This is the only one in the San Diego zoo but there are a lot of others in Balboa park Zoo Quote
+Team Red Oak Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 There is a virtual at the national zoo in Washington D.C. called tiger paws. Quote
+Sue Gremlin Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 This cache is located right outside a drive through safari park, so you can see the giraffes and other big game critters, and is excellent. This cache is located right outside the gates of the Cape May County zoo. Neither of these are actually in the zoo. Quote
+Dew Crew Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Here is a webcam one in Cheyenne Mountain, CO: Giraffe Cam Quote
+Markwell Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Two in Chicago - different zoos: Swans All Around, Lincoln Park Zoo - webcam Zoo Invaders!, Brookfield Zoo - virtual You can also search for close proximity caches to those two... Quote
+Night Stalker Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Renegade Knight hid a sneaky one in the Pocatello Zoo. He got permission first, and I believe the zoo actually installed the cache for him. Quote
AZcachemeister Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 There's a virtual at the Tucson Zoo, and a micro in the parking area of the Phoenix Zoo. There's also another micro at 'Hunt's Tomb', which overlooks the Phoenix Zoo, and you can actually see at least one of the displays from there! Quote
+OzarksJim Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 There are a few at the St. Louis Zoo: ROAR ! Zoo (#2) Field Trip: Penguins & Puffins Zoo (#3) Field Trip: Along a River's Edge Quote

medoug Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 A friend of mine (not a geocacher himself) once told me that he thought that it would be funny to place a geocache (or at least the coordinates for a geocache) in the lion's pen at a zoo. Seriously though... I am planning a zoo cache in remote part of a nearby park that once had a zoo but it was removed around 1930. After investigating the area, I even found some artifacts providing evidence of the site's previous function. Few people, even the locals, know that a zoo once existed in the spot. I am still doing some investigation into the details of this ghostzoo, but plan to establish the cache this Spring. medoug. Quote
+Harry Dolphin Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Watching my brother's foreign travels through geocaching.com (strange use for this website?), he is planning in logging this one soon: Dusit Zoo, Bangkok , a Virtual cache. There are only 46 caches in all of Thailand?!? Quote
n0wae Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I've got one in Colorado but the Zoo animals are all dead! Swetsville Zoo Quote
