'milestone' Caches In The Southeast

As my better half and I are only 4 short of 500 caches, we'd like to do a memorable cache for our 500th - but it needs to be in the southeast somewhere, preferably as close to Kent as possible.

 

Any recommendations for a good milestone cache!

I did my 100th a year and a week ago at Royal Observatory Greenwich Cache (GCK7HH)

but I'm sure you would have done that one

Our favourite Kent cache was GCQK8J - Ding Dong

 

(um... have to admit we've only done a couple of caches in Kent - but if you read the logs you'll see lots of good comments)

 

Can't explain more without giving the game away though!

Dan's The Ring (feeling too lazy to do you a link, sorry!) proved popular for The White Family and many others to hit their milestone on. It's a little way around the M25 from you, but if you take an extra few miles up the M40 you could do Messe's Alpha Quest Y, which is also becoming a popular milestone cache.

I would recommend - Reigate Mini Multi Ramble. Expect some walking, expect some mud, but the views are stunning and there is plenty of history and nature along the way. It took me about two hours to do so it is not dash and cache! Bet off all, the car park has some well needed refreshments, and there are several other nearby caches.

That looks like the sort of thing we're after - but not much chance of getting the other 3 done on the same day by the looks of it.

Not in daylight at this time of year, no. Bring torches... actually, it would be possible as some of the stages (without giving too much away!) bring you close to other caches. I could mail you a list of other targets if you fancy...

Yeah, there are seveal quickies that I can think of nice and close to the various parts of The Ring. Like SP, I would happily give you a list, and if you need it, be a PAF for you, as there are one or two places where you may appreciate having one.
