+Schuhhirsch
Hello hungarian Geocacher, my name is Schuhhirsch and I'm planning to stay for two or three days in Budapest at the end of January. Beside of sightseeing, I will maybe search for some caches together with my girlfriend. For caching I usually use a PDA with pathaway and a bluetooth GPSR, together with a conventional Garmin3 Unfortunately I was not able to find detailed electronic maps of Budapest. So I scanned a tourist map from downtown and will calibrate it with TTQV, to use it on my PDA with Pathaway. So far so good. The problem is, that this map has no reference information except the north-direction and the scale. What I need is now some coordinates of points that I can locate on the map. The area of the map is: northern limit: "Centenariumi emlekmü" on Margitsziget southern limit: "Petöfi hid" western limit: "Martirok"-Monument/Gesztenyes kert eastern limit: "Puskas Ferenc Stadion" (please excuse the non-use of hungarian characters, but german keyboards... ) Could anybody of you provide me with helpful information, for example: "the center of the crossing of "Üllöi ut" with "Ferenc körut" (700m southeast of "Nemzeti Muzeum" has the coordinates N12 34.567 E12 34.567" Thank you for your help and assistance, happy caching , Schuhhirsch Edited January 8, 2006 by Schuhhirsch Quote Link to comment
astacus
At http://terkep.t-online.hu/ you find an accurate electronic map of Hungary with all the intersections of Budapest for your convenience and calibration. Another map is here with all the geocaches of Hungary: http://www.geocaching.hu/maps.geo?id=aeromap This only provides coordinates indirectly through caches.
