Mustcache
An overly common mistake that new members make is the publishing of Travel Bug serial numbers in their log entries. Perhaps one way to at least lower the occurrence is to place a subtitle (in red) on the "Post a new log" page stating that Traveler serial numbers must not be logged. While you may not be able to make anything idiot-proof, it may cut down on the occurrence of unwanted serials publication. Link to comment
+caderoux
Or have the program simply quietly replace anything which looks like the bug's number with XXXXXX. After all the web site knows the number of each bug. Link to comment
+Prime Suspect
That's far less of a problem than people publishing photos of tbugs where the number is clearly visible in the photo. Link to comment
Mustcache
My thought on this is, if the logger sees that the numbers shouldn't be published, they would have that in mind when posting photos also. I really don't think that members remember everything they read in the guidelines (assuming they even read them). If it's right in front of them when logging, they might actually heed the notice.
