kerecsen
I'm really disappointed that they didn't put the SiFR III in the Vista/Legend. I was contemplating getting a Legend Cx as a backup -- but not without the Sirf chipset (and the 60 series is a bit on the bulky side for the purpose) Of course their 60 series sales would probably plummet otherwise, seeing that hardly any of the other differentiating features are actually worth the extra money for their typical user base. freeday
I would also have taken the VISTA CX with SirfIII The GPSMAP60 is NO pocketgps. Vista + Memory + SIRF would be really nice. Quote Link to comment
+hogrod
i totally agree, but unlike now with current models they have actually gave us a reason to buy the more expencive model. Quote Link to comment

They are not the big, Give me a break. I have used a Magellan Meridan gold for many years and it is not a small GPS but it fits in my pockets. THe 60s the 76s are not any larger than the Meridians. +ZingerHead
Wait a few months. You'll see an eTrex with the new chipsets soon enough I'd wager. I'd market it that way - put it in the "higher end" units first for the early adopters, then roll it out into the more affordable segments later on. Isn't that how the color screens were introduced? +1701eh
The eTrex units ARE included in the announcement... http://www.garmin.com/pressroom/outdoor/010306b.html Tony Quote Link to comment
+1701eh
Oops...Sorry... I see you wanted the SirfIII as well Tony Quote Link to comment
GeoBobC
It appears that only the 60x and 76x will have the new Sirf processor. That's too bad. Quote Link to comment
