+Shilo Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Just saw this website for a State Park in AL. On the bottom was a link to gc.com. I e-mailed them to thank them for the link and ask if they geocache. Haven't heard back yet. First time I have seen this and its really neat to see. Happy New Year, Shilo Quote
+ZackJones Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 I like that image they use for the link - way cool! Quote
+4leafclover Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 that is great. I wonder if it would be possible to contact area parks here and suggest something similar? Quote
+The Leprechauns Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 The West Virginia State Parks website not only links to Geocaching.com, but also includes a list of the caches with links to the cache pages! 4LeafClover, in your area, the Hamilton County Park District has been quite supportive of geocaching. But they ought to take a cue from Cleveland MetroParks and add some geocaching material to their website! There is a good New Years project for your local organization's parks outreach person. Quote
+Doc-Dean Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Its great to see parks that are supportive. Now if we can get them together with staff from non-supportive parks and let them talk.... that would be something! Oh, and BTW - I've seen parks that will even rent our GPSr's to people who want to try geocaching in their park! Quote
+Seth! Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Interesting. So this state park links to a commercial website. Gosh, that sounds downright criminal. Someone should complain because people might find some relevant information and we wouldn't want that. Quote

The Hamilton County parks went to great lengths to have our local group place 75th anniversary caches in all the parks. They barely touched on it in their promotional literature, and would give it only passing mention in the monthly newsletters that they put out. I just think a link to this site would be an excellent way to promote it, and the use of their trail systems. I may have to bring it up with our groups park liaison, Maybe he could make soem headway... Quote
