+geospyder
The basic yellow eTrex... Is it true that you can only manually load coordinates? What is behind the flap on the back? Quote Link to comment
+dino_hunters
The flap on the back is for the serial port, which wil let you upload & download files. You can get a cable for $16 from GPSgeek. <link removed by moderator> Edited December 28, 2005 by Hemlock Quote Link to comment
+tands
There's also places to buy cable parts. I have to brag now... I built a cable for my ForeTrex (yeah, it uses the cheap connector) for $2.37 in parts and 15 minutes of DIY. And the cable works! - T of TandS Quote Link to comment
peter
You can get a cable for $16 from GPSgeek. <link deleted by moderator> Or you can go to eBay and check the 'stores' section for GPSGeek and get the same cable from the same dealer for $6.79. +geospyder
Thanks for the responses. We had gotten the Garmin yellow eTrex for each of our four grandkids for Christmas. We knew the basic eTrex didn't come with a cord but each of our kids have higher end Garmins so I figured the grandkids could use their parents cord. Apparently not - but with the responses here looks like eBay is getting some business Thanks again. Quote Link to comment
