I just bought a 06 honda civic with navigation. has anyone heard or know if it is possible to transfer cache coordinates to the system?

Not many users here use automotive units. Most use handhelds. I'm hoping someone will come by with an answer for you. You may want to try posting in the GPSPasSion forum. It seems to have more automotive users.

Looks like it uses a DVD Disk For Mapping S/W and possibly a DAC for Sat Radio, An OBDII Programer with Honda Updated info Might do it (You should be able to hack it it uses the same algo as USA Autos). But sounds like you got a good machine.

Being that it is an 06 I can assume that the tech is at least 6 + months old, I know of no Haks for this but I do know that if it comes factory it will undoubtably be conneted to the "BUS" of the CPU/MPU/ABS/SRS/BCU and that the fact that it uses a DVD for the Map file(could be permanent or loadable), (Where is it?) I could see no reson why it would not have the option to load wpts. consider making freinds with the crew in the local honda dealer tech area.

 

If I run into an idea or 06 I'll tinker (I have an obdII /scanner/programer. cost me 5k)

The navi is dvd based. the dvd must stay in at all times. i can input addresses (don't know about coordinates). It also has a pc card input for audio. I was looking for the possibility of transferring many cache coordinates to the navi. thanks.
