ATMouse Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I am SOOOO bummed! I've been put in charge of getting some coins made for a geobash in Allegany State Park in Western NYS this May and I've email some coin makers and NO ONE, not ONE has emailed me back. Is this normal or should I be doing something else?
+Cornerstone4 Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Check your spam filter. If you emailed CoinsandPins, I can't believe you haven't gotten a response.
+nscaler Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Wait until Monday. Did you try www.oakcoins.com?
SCP-173 Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Check your spam filter. If you emailed CoinsandPins, I can't believe you haven't gotten a response. I second that. Email coinsandpins.com and you will not be dissapointed.
+AtlantaGal Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 It's probably the holidays. There is only 1 vendor that typically is a little slow with email replies. I'm sure you'll hear back next week.
+MO Outdoorfamily Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Check your spam filter. If you emailed CoinsandPins, I can't believe you haven't gotten a response. I second that. Email coinsandpins.com and you will not be dissapointed. Tess (Coins and pins) recently changed email providers and some of her stuff is getting sent to spam folders and she's having ot unearth it. She is also one person short in her office right now and will be traveling some this week. Send me a note or PM if it was coins and pins and I'll send her an email to go looking for your info in her junk folders--since I reply to emails she's previously sent me they don't usually go to the junk folders. Of it's oakcoins.com give him a few days, they just had a new baby this week.
+junglehair Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Check your spam filter. If you emailed CoinsandPins, I can't believe you haven't gotten a response. I second that. Email coinsandpins.com and you will not be dissapointed. I'll third that. I have yet to see anyone say anything bad about coins and pins and some of my favourite coins in my collection were minted there. I definitely would recommend trying to contact them. Perhaps you'll have better luck after the holidays.
+Ladycacher Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 (edited) Tess at Coins and Pins is out of town and her husband did not allow her to take the Laptop . She will be back on Tuesday, then she will have to go through 1,000 emails before she gets to yours....give her a few days. Edited December 25, 2005 by Ladycacher & Boys
+Night_Hawk Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I sent out 3 emails last Tuesday and Tess from coins and pins is the only one thats written back. I still have yet to hear from coinsforanything or KVcoins.
+Ladycacher Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Tess is very good about getting back with you. Another thing is, if it were me, I would call the phone number listed on the coinsandpins website Tuesday, you can probably get her faster by phone then by email next week.
+WWC-World's Worst Cacher Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Try Oak Coins, You might even hear from them today (Christmas) or Gary at Quality Lapel pins
+Green Achers Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Try Oak Coins, You might even hear from them today (Christmas) or Gary at Quality Lapel pins Said many times, many ways... but I'll add my two-bits worth. I'm working with Oak Coins and have no complaints. (We're at the point of waiting for proofs to come back). Christian is very responsive and likely to respond after the ripped wrapping get's cleaned up.
ATMouse Posted December 25, 2005 Author Posted December 25, 2005 Thank you - I'm going keep trying. I started emailing about two weeks ago, hoping to beat the deadlines on some of the specials out there. One WAS oakcoins and another was coinsandpins...sigh. (I've got a pretty cool design worked out and am trying to get an artist-cum-techno friend to do it up for me.)
+nielsenc Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 One WAS oakcoins and another was coinsandpins...sigh. (I've got a pretty cool design worked out and am trying to get an artist-cum-techno friend to do it up for me.) Hi, I have looked through our emails and couldnt find one from you. As posted earlier, we did have a new baby. He keeps me up at night so I am able to answer emails. There is another person who answers email as well. If you want to resend it, please do so or you can PM me. nielsenc
+frivlas Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Hi, I know EXACTLY how you feel! I sent emails to two different coin manufacturers before I found Oakcoins and I am still waiting to here back from them. Meanwhile, I have already received my proof coins and am now excitedly awaiting the finals from Oakcoins. Take heart, I was where you were 4 weeks ago and now am only 2.5 weeks away from having coins in hand. Good luck! Frivlas
+Rusty & Libby Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I do not see any emails from you but if you would like quick answers check out either of these sites: The GeocoinStore Personal Geocoins It might be a bit unfair to expect everyone to reply on Christmas or even on the weekends in general but I try to reply to all email within 24 hours. The paper is done flying around here now so if you shoot me an email I will get you a reply.
+IceCreamMan Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Try The Caching Place - I've done a number of coins with them. Great work and great service.
+BadAndy Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I'll add to the coinsandpins endorsement. Tess has always been very responsive.
+Renegade Knight Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Out of 26 or so I emailed on coins, almost all emailed within one business day, and a few over the weekend. The non responders were rare.
+BackBrakeBilly Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I talked to Tess at CoinsAndPins last night on the phone for over an hour and I can guarantee she will get back with you very soon. She has been very good about getting and staying in touch with us on our recent coin projects. You cannot go wrong with Tess and Aaron at www.coinsandpins.com Thanks.
+Thorny1 Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 We've had great success with CoinsandPins.com. Tess has been super to work with and very helpful. I can't imagine going anywhere else. T1
+maggieszoo Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 The Caching Place has been great to work with.
+pdxmarathonman Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I talked to Tess at CoinsAndPins last night on the phone for over an hour I think we know why she hasn't responded to the emails Kidding of course! You all know how much I love the work that Aaron and Tess do.
ATMouse Posted December 26, 2005 Author Posted December 26, 2005 Because of many of your kind intercessions, it looks like I'm on my way to getting the coins made. Sincerely, ya'll are the best! Thank you! PS Look for the listing for the Allegany State Park Geobash and Caching Event (I swear I didn't make that title up) on May 19th through 21st of 2006. PPS Did I mention there will be coins...?
