+geobudman
Does anyone out there have any experience buying cables from places other than the manufacturer? I am looking for a 12v cigarette plug adapter for an iFinder, but don't want to pay $30+ for it if I don't have to. Most of the stores that show up in a Google search list only the Lowrance branded cables, for about the same suggested retail as the Lowrance site. I would also be interested in a magnetic mount external antenna, but I think it would have to have its own on-board power supply for the basic iFinder. I don't even know if this would work on my first generation iFinder--any help? As an aside, how about "stickies" or "pinned topics" in the "Garage Sale" and "software" forum that would allow you to place your posts in a topic that would specialize according to brand-name? It gets monotonous having to scroll thru every post to try and get info on something you are looking for in a particular model or brand. Anyway, TIA!!!! Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
I get my GPS cables, etc from Gilsson, or at least start there. Then as JeepinJeff mentioned, eBay is a great source once you have an item ID or description to search for the best deal. Quote Link to comment
peter
Agreed. In particular, GPSGeek is the direct retail outlet for Gilsson and sells items considerably cheaper from their eBay store at: http://stores.ebay.com/GPSgeek than they do from either the Gilsson or GPSGeek websites.
