Is This Too Much?

I activated one of my NYGO Geocoins today, and am planning to take along on my trip to St. Martin to release it...is the wording:

 

1) too much

 

2) too soft

 

3) likely to make a difference in the length of it's in-cache life

I think it reads fine. There's not much else you can do. If someone wants to keep it, they will regardless of what you say. Some people take coins and don't even look them up on gc.com. Into a drawer, they go.

You could also drill a hole in it might make it travel a little further.

GA Cacher and I worked out a deal to set this coin into the wild with a specific mission. I did not deface the coin in any way, but did attach a sticker to the outside of the plastic sleeve (not that it would prevent anyone from stealing it, but at least they can't say they didn't know it was A: activated and B: had a mission.)

I totally agree, If someone wants to pocket it, It's gonna be a goner. Kinda makes ya wanna cuss real loud don't it. There is another posting somewhere about how defacing coins a little to make them last longer in the caches.

The wording is fine...but totally useless. My first (and only) USA geocoin's goal was simple; "to NOT disappear!" I even pointed out where you could still buy them (at the time) for $5. It lasted less than 2 weeks in one cache, never logged.

Make the last paragraph first and put the whole thing on a laminated sheet.

All of that text MUST be on a tag that accompanies the coin. I doesn't matter one iota what the page says if the person who finds the coin never visits it.

 

I like the way it reads.

I'd say its pretty soft with a very personal touch . But I don't know that it will keep some jerk from steal it, but time will tell . I've put this coin on my watchlist.

That doesn't allow the coin to end up IN a cache (which many folks really would like to see happen with their coins!)

Glad to see a New York coin being released into the wild. I plan to do the same with one of mine. Hope it gets to visit many caches and cachers.

I plan to release at least one of each coin I buy or trade for...even if they all disappear, they will be a nice surprise in the caches they land in until they are traded-out or taken.
