The_Brownies
ScanDisk memory (SD) is scandisk memory regardless of who makes it. No-- you do not have to buy from Magellan. Walmart? Maybe if the price is right. Ebay has some pretty cheap deals. Quote Link to comment
+Jamie Z
ScanDisk memory (SD) is scandisk memory It's actually Sandisk. Also, SD stands for Secure Digital, and many companies make SD cards, not just Sandisk. I've found the best place to get SD cards is not retail, but online. I was able to buy a 512meg card for $80 or something when Walmart still had them for over $100. Now they are even cheaper than that. Jamie Quote Link to comment
+grueinthedark
I picked up some 512MB SD memory the other day for my wife's camera for $29.94 at Staples. (Last week they had a deal on 1 GB but I did not get there in time.) http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...0&cmArea=SEARCH Edited December 15, 2005 by grueinthedark Quote Link to comment
+Team Cotati
Any commonly available SD card from any of about 6 top vendors will work just fine. Buy only from trusted, known sources, get the cheapest one for the size that you can find. Happy caching. ;-) Quote Link to comment
+ToTheSummit
Best on-line prices I've found (from a reputable site that I trust) is 'newegg.com'. They have great prices on most electronic items. I've always had great service from them and the prices are very competative. You can get 1gig SD cards now starting as low as $50. I have had good experience with all my purchases from newegg. Other online sources that you might consider: amazon, wal-mart, thenerds.net, staples, office depot, digitally unique. There are surely others but in most cases if you shop these you can purchase the lowest price with confidence. Choosing by price alone is typically a gigantic mistake. +The Commissar!
I agree, bigger is better for map coverage and you should be able to find some great deals for the next 10 or so days...Last Christmas I got some 512mb SD cards for $24 after rebate from brick & mortar store. That was a smokin deal back then and not bad now! Quote Link to comment

I'll agree with that as well, I bought a 512 MB SD card there months ago. ($50) SanDisk should work with any brand, but it is recommended by Lowrance for their units. You might could check with the GPS manufacturer to see what brands they support. Quote Link to comment
