+BlueDeuce
at least in a time capsule. Seriously, I think we should start an archive of the current cache items and tools we use in this pastime. Perhaps they can be gathered at the next geowoodstock event. What would go in it and where should it be placed? In Key West at gc.com headquarters? I think an Ammocan, a Garmin Legend (no it doesn't have to be a working model), and a TB tag (old style) are a must. Quote Link to comment

+Mudfrog
Dont forget to include that all important GC.com "stashnote",,,,, properly sized and laminated of course! Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
The time capsule should contain a hamster. Or a pair of hamsters, if you really want to surprise the people who open it up. But I would settle for just one, so's to leave room for signature items from others. I would think that a Series I Moun10Bike Geocoin should be among those. Then we could all search for "time capsule" on eBay. Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
A disk of some great forum conversations would be nice... (Hi Dan!) Not a bad idea, wasn't there a recent posting of forum favorites? I could either print them off or possibly put them to disc. If anyone has forums suggestions, add them there (I guess) Dont forget to include that all important GC.com "stashnote",,,,, properly sized and laminated of course! You laminate it, I'll add it. Then we could all search for "time capsule" on eBay. hee hee! Ain't it the truth. I'll have to print off a few sales. also one of the all time favorites...A KFC Moist Towelet ........ I'm kind of partial to used ticket stubs. Edited December 14, 2005 by BlueDeuce Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Now that I think of it, I'll be happy to take some full logbooks. A bunch even. Of course I'll only add just a couple of books filled with TFTC written on every page. So you might want to review the book first. PM me if you got one. Quote Link to comment
+the hermit crabs
If you create a list of the contents of this time capsule, make sure you say that there's a Jeep TB in it, but don't put one in Quote Link to comment
+DavidMac
I'm kind of partial to used ticket stubs. They're about as good a cahce item as those scratch and win lotto tickets... with all the fields scratched off. Seriously, I think this is an interesting idea. Maybe people could submit personal sig items for inclusion in the "cache". And maybe a few coins and TBs for flavor. Quote Link to comment

The sad thing is I'm not really joking. Quote Link to comment

+KolarBear
We should also wrap the contents in a zip-lock and let it get musty. You want them to have the full experience... don’t you? Quote Link to comment
+Googling Hrpty Hrrs
You should put a commemorative cache above ground that's findable (above the buried time capsule.) Maybe even put pictures of the time capsule contents in this cache, so future cachers can enjoy the experience... without the digging... Quote Link to comment

+welch
how about a dead grass hopper, a rusty bottle cap, and a rock you find on the way to hide the capsule? Oh a couple good novels! Quote Link to comment
+ODragon
I'd like to add that we should say there is a non-USA geocoin in there but not actually put it in there as that's what I actually find when I'm caching! (A geocoin listed but not actually there when I open it!) Quote Link to comment
+Zzyzx Road
Based on a topic I read yesterday (I am digging through history) one should also include a small vial of "Blue Water"... Quote Link to comment

If your actually serious I would suggest rather than bury it ( ), just putt everything in an ammo can and sealing in inside a 3x3x3 cube of concrete. Avoidings the bury problem, and might be more meaning for to visit?? Of course you'd need somewhere to store the block, and would have to figure out how hot it would get inside. Would hate to open a time capsule in the future and find damaged / unreadable stuff Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
I never said bury. The actual archive container hasn't really been decided yet. Heck who knows this could just turn into a museum type display. If I do bury it in a concrete block I think I'll put in a ol' timer, someone from the '01 era.
