Kerstin76
Does anybody uses topographical maps or aerial pictures on the PDA? Escpecially the maps you can download from Terraserver (for example with USAPhotomaps)? I was looking into mapadvisor, but I am not very confident with the program. Any alternatives? +Chuy!
Poor man's way: copy and paste screen image into Paint; crop/trim to size; save as jpg, then download into pda. Quote Link to comment
StarshipTrooper
Delorme Topo5 combined with Delorme Street Atlas will give you topos you can load onto your PDA. There is also a provision for capturing and using online sat photos with that package. Quote Link to comment
Greymane
Memory-Map Navigator makes it easy to use the USAPhotoMaps images. I use them all of the time. I also use topos from the USGS Seamless Site and aerials and other images from the NY State GIS Clearinghouse. Heck, I can even scan in paper maps and calibrate them in Memory-Map. (Nice for things where large scale maps are not available or detailed enough.) Quote Link to comment
Kerstin76
Thanks for all the input so far. Unfortunally, I should have written that I have a Palm PDA and as far as I see all software mentioned is for Pocket PC:-( I guess I really have to go the old fashioned way to copy and paste a picture... +naviguesser74
not only do I have a Palm PDA, but I am a Mac user, too. I can't find anything to run a map program on the Mac and put it into the Palm. Quote Link to comment
Team MDS
I use MapAdvisor to navigate through the aerial and Topo map images that I download from QuakeMap. I have a Palm LifeDrive and store the images on my LifeDrive's disk drive. It works pretty well with my Bluetooth TomTom Navigator 5. Quote Link to comment
