CacheMoneyPugLife
I was just wondering what people consider their rarest coins. Since I just started geocaching and trading geocoins I just want to see which coins are the rare ones. My rarest (I think ) is: Cav Scout Ver.1 Quote Link to comment
Mystery Ink
the Rarest coins we own hmm I would have to say Moun10bike V3 OIFGA Gold Shop99er Vampire Mummies and Geoghosts and the PDX Oh and Ckayak V1 and Ckayak V2 I can keep going. Edited December 7, 2005 by Mystery Ink Quote Link to comment
IC1
A 1909 S Indian Head cent XF RD Seriouly though (and OnTopic) I think the OIFGA Gold Coin is the rarest. Maybe the 3Costgoguys coins are close though. Quote Link to comment
SCP-173
I think it's a toss up between Waypoint 15, Moun10Bike ver. 2, GD Mystery Coin & Groundspeak Project Square. I'm leaning more towards the Waypoint 15. Quote Link to comment
GEO*Trailblazer 1
Rarest coin or geocoin? My rarest coin is a gold shekel from King Solomons temple. My rarest geocoin is the Missouri. I got to touch, move and log a Moun10Bike Coin. And the rest of my small collection of geocoin's are rare to me. Quote Link to comment
Mauison
I think it's a toss up between Waypoint 15, Moun10Bike ver. 2, GD Mystery Coin & Groundspeak Project Square. I'm leaning more towards the Waypoint 15. I think of those, the Waypoint 15 is the rarest. Me personally, an 1877 Indian Head penny...wait, wrong kind of coin. Dhobby v.1 Quote Link to comment
CacheMoneyPugLife
I meant geocoin sorry for not being specific. Quote Link to comment
Mystery Ink
also I forgot to mention the VTA End Station coin. Quote Link to comment
Thrak
I have a Prairie Partners LE Silver - only 75 minted. Quote Link to comment
GrandpaKim
I would have to say that the rarest geocoin in my collection is the square Groundspeak Project geocoin. Quote Link to comment
junglehair
GD Mystery Coin and Square Groundspeak Project coin are probably the only two "rare" coins I have. I suppose the 1queen&4jokers clay Manitoba coin might be pretty rare too - not sure how many they made since they are hand made, but I have coin number 3 Quote Link to comment
The Leprechauns
My first "keeper" geocoin was a Series 1 Moun10Bike Coin, presented to me by the owner after a day of geocaching on Whidbey Island in Washington. A highlight of one of my best geocaching days ever. Not a bad start to a small collection that has grown to about 20 coins without a single online transaction, and without keeping a single coin that had instructions to travel. Ahhh, the old-fashioned way. It was fun for me then. Quote Link to comment
Cav Scout
My rarest geocoin I have in my collection is the first geocoin I ever found, the "I don't wanna and you can't make me" geocoin . I found it in NM.This is a little known about geocoin . Moun10bike saw one of them at the Gig Harbor cache machine this past year when I showed him my then small collection of geo stuff. "I don't wanna and you can't make me " are my first geocaching friends I ever made. Their parents are Toady and Froggie from Las Cruces,NM . They make hand made geofrogs as their signature trade item. Look up their profiles sometime . Edited December 7, 2005 by Cav Scout Quote Link to comment
Damenace
I would have to say that my Moun10bike ver. 2, my Dhobby1 ver.1 and my MIGO seasonal set rank up there as my rarest coins I own. Edited December 7, 2005 by Damenace Quote Link to comment
Rupert2
The Groundspeak Project (Square) *The Shadow* Each had 50 made. Tokens and wooden nickels are a different story: Probably Lost Dubloons Inc tokens (5 made) Seventh Son Wooden Nickels (I have all three, so far...) I agree that my 1queen&4jokers tokens are very rare too. Edited December 7, 2005 by Rupert2 Quote Link to comment
graylling
Probably my GD Mystery coin. I'm still not sure exactly who made them or what they were made for although I have heard there were only 50 made.. Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
The rarest that I know if I don't have yet. It's hand machined by the cacher. Each is different as they experiment with machining and resins. Someday I'll find one though. Quote Link to comment

Lemon Fresh Dog
Red-Handed gold (only 1 - made as a sample coin). I count it as rare because there are 600 regular ones out there and only one of these. I don't have any of the "big" coins though. Which is okay by me because the only coins I seem to really like are the ones I get from the "creators/cachers" themselves (strange as it sounds, I would sincerely move a Moun10Bike ver1 to a new cache rather than collect it -- unless I traded with Moun10Bike for one). So, it may be awhile before I can claim anything "rare" -- because I am sure that the really rare ones are rare because they really are gone from the hands of the creators. Quote Link to comment
Colorado Cacher
I guess so. . . but I can fondle it for the next 10 days. Thou shallst not fondle thine coins. Rarest I have is probably the 1890's five dollar gold piece worth $5,000.00 ten years ago. Geocoins? I dont keep these becasue people buy these to have them circulate, just like TB's. +Grimlock
i have a pretty small collection but having been geocaching for quite a while, i was collecting people's sig items. I happened to land a Waypoint 15 coin in a cache a few years ago. Not a bad start for my growing collection! Thanks Waypoint15! Quote Link to comment

Capt Biggins
I would have to say- 2 of the 40 error michigan coins that made it out of the press and into the mailbox- the error was they mistakenly pressed duplicate numbers on some and I got 2 in the mail- but was told to just keep them and file the numbers off-and they sent me 2 new ones--I just covered the numbers with a little label tape.. +Lowrider71
The newest "RARE" coin on the block. Moun10Bike 2005 Christmas Coinament I would have to agree with you Cent5, this is a great choice, and it is one of my favorite coins as well. However being on the ACD 2005 team with you, my ACD 2005 GeoCoin is very near & dear to my heart, along with the new friends that I made on that trip. So I have three favorites, and the Moun10Bike Christmas Coin is probably the rarest. Edited December 10, 2005 by Lowrider71 Quote Link to comment
