The Leprechauns Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 It's those darn Turks again. They must not like Subarus. Quote
wimseyguy Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) It's those darn Turks again. They must not like Subarus. The 'u' sound does not exist in the Turkish tongue. Therefore they find that word extremely offensive and impossible to pronounce. Edited December 4, 2005 by wimseyguy Quote
dougsmiley Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Could be thier running a microsoft server and something went wrong. I think I've seen them do this before. I don't think it's been hacked, maybe just down. No hacker links to microsoft, hackers tend to hate them, being linux geeks. Quote
Lil Devil Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 The link above has an extra http so it takes you to MS. The correct URL is http://www.earthcache.org/ Quote
dougsmiley Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 So thats how i've had that happen before. It's not april fools day, so it must of been some sort of brute force attack (where it automatically attacks every server it comes apon and adds this message). Who hacks an earthcache site, anyway? +The Leprechauns Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Who hacks an earthcache site, anyway? Probably someone who wanted to hide a physical container for an earthcache, and went nuts when he received the form letter back from the reviewer asking "Why hide a physical cache when a virtual can easily be placed nearby?"
