+Kathi & the Grouch Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Somewhere on a forum post I saw mention of a promotional t-shirt with the slogan "Get a Garmin or Get Lost" (or something like that) Does anyone know where I can buy/get one? -- not used, of course ;-) I emailed Garmin and the customer service rep who answered said he wasn't aware of a shirt with that saying on it. He suggested I contact a local dealer but I can't imagine they'd want to deal with people calling about trivial stuff like that. It's a Christmas gift for Grouch. (I can talk about this here because I know he doesn't read the forums.... which is probably a good thing, since I spend entirely too much time reading them!) I suppose anything "Rah, Rah, Garmin" would work, so other suggestions are welcome, too. ... No trash talk from you "other brand" fans, now.... Quote
Cape Cod Cacher Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 (edited) Good Luck... I used to work for a Garmin seller, I needed a couple 'chip-clips' for an older product. Woman I spoke with was real cool, sent them right out (to my house so I knew where they were), when I asked if there were any promo items like shirts, hats etc., she said SHE couldn't get any. This was back in '97, check their site for any thing the might sell. Or attend a convention and buy a few thousand units Edited November 30, 2005 by Cape Cod Cacher Quote
+Team GPSaxophone Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 You'd think companies would offer shirts and hats at a reduced price because it gets them some relatively cheap advertising. The company I work for charges $50 just for a polo shirt with the company name on it! Quote
magellan315 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Try writing Garmin's PR department directly and explain to them why you are trying to get this shirt and your a geocacher. It only costs you a postage stamp. Quote
+Kathi & the Grouch Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 Thanks for the idea, Magellan (Magellan!? what a great attitude! appreciate your willingness to help a Garmin fan!) I'll send them a letter asking about the shirt, and at the same time suggest they might be missing out on a great marketing niche with us rabid fan geocachers. Quote
sporkboy Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I actually have that shirt that you are talking about so it does actually exist. I got it as a prize in a geocaching contest. The people running the contest contacted Garmin and they sent things like the shirts and hats and soda can holders. I do wear mine so you can't have it. Good luck though. Quote
+Team Perks Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I too have one of those "Get Garmin or Get Lost" shirts sitting in a drawer at home. A friend solicited Garmin before a geocaching event and they sent over a few shirts, a giant Garmin banner, some baseball caps, and a bunch of other goodies (no GPS though, dang!). I would agree that contacting their promotional department might be your best bet. Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I got a Garmin shirt when I ordered the auto-package. It just has the Garmin name and logo on the front and back. Quote
SAWKS Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Garmin is the greatest GPS company! (boy am i gonna get flamed by Magellan users) Quote
+GarminArmin Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 A friend solicited Garmin before a geocaching event and they sent over a few shirts, a giant Garmin banner, some baseball caps, and a bunch of other goodies. Now Andy, I wonder who that could be..It does help to have the word "Garmin" in your GC.Com handle though.. Quote
+Team Perks Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I dunno, Mark, it coulda been something else... Quote
+Moose Mob Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 We gave it the dayt here, let's ask the folks in the GPS area and see if we get different answers. Quote
nobby.nobbs Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 probably quicker and easier to go to get a tshirt printed yourself. then have any slogan you want. Quote
+The Crazy H Crew Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Only one on ebay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/NWOT-Garmin-White-Logo...1QQcmdZViewItem TCHC Quote
+Goodguys Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 The AAA Auto Club put out a series of caches along 'Route 66' last summer. They have Garmin shirts in some of them. This shirt was from one of their caches during one of our caching road trips south this summer. Quote
+Thrak Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Try writing Garmin's PR department directly and explain to them why you are trying to get this shirt and your a geocacher. It only costs you a postage stamp. I checked on the Garmin site and can't find any appropriate phone, address, or email address to contact. Sigh..... I too would like a Garmin t-shirt. I have no use for the type of shirt listed on eBay though. Quote
