Lactodorum Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Groundspeak have been contacted by LBC News 1152AM's drivetime programme who want to do an article about Geocaching. They would like to interview a local cacher and possibly to a "live" piece while on a cache hunt. I can immediately think of a few people who would be good at this but I wanted to throw it open to anyone who lives in the area covered by LBC - i.e. the South East of England. So anyone fancy volunteering? Either post here or contact me directly by e-mail to lactodorum (at) gmail (dot) com

+Moote Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 OK, I'm up for it Ahhhhhh it's in the South East though
+Haggis Hunter Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Get your names into the hat, this is great fun, I have done it. You may find that you will be the one that gets picked due to others not being able to meet up at a certain time. For the radio interview that I done, it was Firth of Forth that was approached, she couldn't do it due to being away the week they wanted to do the interview. So she kindly passed them onto me. The interview fell through that week and got done a fortnight later, when Firth of Forth was available, but I got interviewed. I had a great time, Sorry FoF
+Learned Gerbil Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I've done radio interviews before on other subjects - I am in London, but it depends when they want to do it and for how long.
+Simply Paul Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I'll throw my hat into the ring too. I'm the ideal person for the programme as I have broadcast experience (I was on Ann Diamond in April, until she asked me to get off), possess the perfect face for radio and own a mobile phone S 'the kid' P

+kewfriend Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Let me see if I can persuade fewkinder ( the missus ) and kewfinder ( the daughter ) if they'd like to join kewfriend ( the old man ). Seems a 'team' like this might be fun.
alistair_uk Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Do let us know when it will be broadcast, I will listen in.
+Firth of Forth Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Get your names into the hat, this is great fun, I have done it. (Actually the plan, all along was to get someone else to do it!) It was such great timing that you were with us in the car on our way to the SGDO in the Cairngorms in August, and we were able to listen to the programme live during the journey!
+Sensei TSKC Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I would like to volunteer for this too. Let me know where and when! Oss!
Lactodorum Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 Thanks for all the offers. I've now got a problem as I've got to select somone and disappoint all the others who volunteered I'll keep this thread open until the morning to give those who log on in the evening a chance then make a decision tomorrow. My humble apologies to those who are unsuccessful
+Alibags Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 It's strikes me that one of the families or the youngsters would be more interesting than a bunch of middle aged geeks! Just my 2p worth. Get Sensei, Sirboot and Grace to do it, they get my vote!!
alistair_uk Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I think we need open audition that we can tape and the best/worst we distribute on CDs in caches! That's a bit worrying, I appear to have a sadistic side I was unaware of until now.
+Learned Gerbil Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Don't worry, I won't be disapointed. Anyway LBC is a bit down market for me - I usually do BBC World Service!
+Simply Paul Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 My vote goes to Lester (Sensei) too - He'd be really good at it. Lovely speaking voice, even if he can't say 'Right' without saying 'Right Right Right'. SP
Lactodorum Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 Thanks for all the offers, obviously a lot of potential stars out there. I've contacted one or two people to try and get it arranged and once it's all set up I'll let you know who is doing it. In the meantime I'll close this thread. As I said before thanks to everyone and apologies for those people who didn't make the X-Factor
