+CW Iams
Hi all - I am going to be in Vegas in early February and was hoping someone may have a bookmark list with their favorite Vegas area caches. Also, we are planning on shooting down to the Hoover Dam, so advice on any of the best caches in that area would be appreciated as well. And finally, what other non city activities are in between Vegas and the Hoover Dam? Any places worth stopping at, or slightly detouring to? Thanks all! Clint Quote Link to comment
2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
CW Iams, Boy, are you gonna have fun! The one outstanding regular cache that we have done is Outdoor Nevada Geocache #3 - Creepy Cache. It is just a tad south on 93 - a short distance from your route to Hoover Dam. All of the virtuals along the strip are great - but we really enjoyed " Luscious ". It is really special in our book. For any other info you can contact Moose Mob. He will be more than helpful. By the way, we have heard that there are some awesome "benchmarks" on Hoover Dam. So keep your eyes open for those, get a pic and log them in the benchmark section. +CW Iams
Thanks for the reply! In my searching, I came across the Nevada Geocaching Group and found 2 different book mark lists of favorite caches to try. I will certainly add your suggestions to my list of ones to research - Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Moose Mob
Here's a list that LongWalker came up with for Hwy 93 What hotel will you be in and how much driving are you willing to do? Quote Link to comment
+CW Iams
Perfect - - I need to go through these lists! :-) As far as hotel, I am not sure. I know it is close to the convention center. I am primarily looking more at the caches outside of the city as I typically enjoy them more. But I have been in very few urban areas for caching, so I am always open to new caching. Regarding driving, that is completely contingent on how much time I can have away from work. Right now I am thinking about taking a day and hitting the Red Rock area then heading down to the Hoover Dam from there. Thanks for the advice! Clint Quote Link to comment
