Logging Attendance At An Event You Organised

Is it socially acceptable to log that you attended an event you arranged. I ask because I have noticed that my find count has incremented when I logged my attendance and it feels like finding my own cache.

Having had a look at what others have done and it appears some log their attendance, as some don’t.

So should I A) Leave it as a find or B) Change it to a note

Update: Turned off smiley so not to have the option of A and smiley.

I think that most people do log their attendance; especially now that there is the option of a log for 'attended' rather than 'found' which used to be the only way of logging an event.

I don't see it as being the same as finding your own cache, which is pretty pointless since you already know where it is. The point of events is to bring cachers together: so everyone who was there should log it, IMHO.

Since events changed from FOUND to ATTENDED, so long as you were at the event you attended it and can log it as such. It's possible to arrange an event and NOT attend, in which case you couldn't log it. In 'the old days' events had the same found/dnf/note choices as physical caches have, and you couldn't really say you 'found' the event if you set it up.

These are my opinions and may not represent the opinions of Groundspeak, its agents, employees or business partners.

You attended, so its only right to log it, but as with other things in this hobby of ours, its up to you :)
