+Lemon Fresh Dog Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Well....in an unintentional kinda way, I've amassed a pretty large coin collection! I purchased a fair number of a "locals only" edition and traded and then made my own edition and bought some. The total number of coins I have is pretty large, but here's my question: 1) how many unique coins do you own? (metal) 2) wooden? 3) poker chip? So if you have 10 Alaska's -- that's only one. If you have 1 Alaska, 1 Alaska Silver, 1 Alaska Gold -- that's three. I'm at 172 metal, 21 wooden and 3 poker chips. Quote
+Spencersb Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 123, counting #01 of my own coin. I don't really collect wooden nickels, but have several on my desk. Quote
+Dreamin'Eagle Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 As of right now (being new to collecting) I only have three metals, one porker , and one wooden plus my personal wooden coins but I'm not sure I would count those. Quote
+Big JohnP Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I've only started this coin thing two months ago, minus a 3 week trip, and so far I have 21 coins and am waiting for 18 more. All metal. Quote
SCP-173 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 About 68 metal coins and a few other assorted tokens. Quote
+GEO*Trailblazer 1 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 10 metal. 1 poker. 5 wooden. Plus a bunch of other tokens,medallions and coins. Quote
+graylling Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I"m guessing I probably have about 125 unique coins in my collection. With more on the way. Most of them are metal with a few wooden nickels and such. Want me to bring it tomorrow Frank? We can compare collections. Quote
+Kealia Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Best estimate based on my last count: 125 - all metal. Including a nice Geobone, thank you very much . Quote

+Thrak Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Not a lot - about a dozen is all. Out of the ones I own, these are the the ones that I have in my collection that are "extra special" to me: Joefrog Lemon Fresh Dog (Silver - and I'm crossing my fingers to win a Gold ) Kilted Cacher Prairie Partners (LE Antique Silver) I'm currently waiting on Kilted Cacher's Christmas Coin in his Holiday Coin series. I will place one as a FTF for some (extremely!) lucky cacher and keep the other one. It will join the ranks of the "extra special" coins listed above. Quote
YemonYime Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Y'mean, we're supposed to count these things? Let's just say I have a one gallon Ziploc freezer bagful. And no, I don't keep them in the freezer. I have a few extra special coins, but I go through favorites. Right now, I'm admiring my Johnnie Lacy wooden nickel, which was the first coin of any kind I ever found. Had no idea who he was until I started collecting geocoins! Quote

Hugh Jazz Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I have 3 coins, 2 from Ladycacher & The Boys of Ladycacher, and one Texas Autumn 2005 "Lost Maples." I also have a USA travelbug/coin around here somewhere, but have temporarily mislaid it during the last tidying up of my desk. Also have 53 lowracer coins coming in toward the end of the month to put in caches as FTF prizes and give to family. Can you tell I'm not a coin collector? Quote
+Dreamin'Eagle Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 When I get home from Iraq I will count them... Thank you for being there and doing what you do, and please come home safe. Quote
+Dreamin'Eagle Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Can you tell I'm not a coin collector? Not everyone is a collector. Mom says it an aspect of the game she doesn't understand or care about but as long as I'm enjoying thats all that really matters. Quote
+1markymark1 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 When I get home from Iraq I will count them... You will be a week just opening coin packages... Will seem like a week long Christmas.... 1markymark1 Quote
+Cav Scout Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) When I get home from Iraq I will count them... When are you scheduled to come home? I still have a ways to go, seven more months to be correct. All of my coin trades are sent to Illinois addressed to my parents home. My brother emailed me and asked what all of the packages with the things that felt like coins in them was for . He said that there must of be over 40 packages with coins in them, a few with multiples:grin: . Edited December 4, 2005 by Cav Scout Quote
