The Hancock Clan
Just driven home from Plymouth and the snow was coming down thick and fast on the A38! Don't know where it's got to now though - back to the usual rain again. Quote Link to comment
Teuchters
On the local radio though they are trying to get to a group of walkers that are stuck in a whiteout on Ben Macdui (where there is a cache) and the RAF have had to turn back their helicopter due to the high winds and conditions up there. If the rescuers turn out to be Cairngorm Mountain Rescue? Then the owner of that said cache, may well be putting his life on the line to rescue them. Yes it is my cache - they could of just phoned for the answer and saved us the job of going out for them..... As far as risking lives, I wouldn't go out if I thought it was that dangerous - which it isn't. Honest. Now back to something more serious - that Snowdoku puzzle. Oh - and there's lots of snow here too. Edited November 24, 2005 by HighlandNick Quote Link to comment
Firth of Forth
Oh - and there's lots of snow here too. So Nick, having just booked a skiing holiday on the continent, have we made a mistake? Should we be heading to Aviemore for the skiing this year I wonder? +Firth of Forth
Snow has arrived in Edinburgh. As I live next to the Firth of Forth (no surprises there) it's usually wet and rainy while it's snowing a couple of miles away in Princes Street. However, its lying thickly on the ground and no sign of it stopping. Glad I didn't have to go to Fife to work today. Quote Link to comment
Happy Humphrey
Still no snow on the Isle of Man, not even at 2000 feet. It looks like we missed out again. There were only a couple of light falls last winter. HH Quote Link to comment

achilles1964
Who needs snow lol! Here in South Cumbria the skys are clear blue, we've just got back from doing a FTF and the sun was nigh on splitting the rocks. We had gone out togged up in all our winter gear, but ended up having to divest ourseves of some of it on the walk back to the car. Quote Link to comment
Alibags
still clear here, although cold. It did hail yesterday. I remember I used to think it was the epicentre of no weather - it could snow on the downs, snow in the costwolds and snow in Oxford but nothing in Swindon. Bet it hasn't settled! Guess what! The snow has settled and by the looks of it, we are about to get a bit more! Like you say, it never snows in Swindon. However, 22 years ago it did snow big time. Wootton Bassett was cut off for 3 days, yet there was not a snow flake in sight in Swindon 3 miles away. The snow was here for 3 weeks in total. Please don't ask me to dig the photo's out, I really don't know where they are! Quote Link to comment

Happy Humphrey
Sorry, Golem, it just doesn't look like much from here. I could just make out a few patches on the tops of the ridges though the binocs. I was expecting heavy snow down to sea level. HH Quote Link to comment
