+briansnat
The best geocaching vest I've seen is the Clear Creek Cruiser Vest. No need for a pack using this vest. There is one built into the back. They are custom made and the maker will consider your needs. They'll even monogram your geo-name on the back of the vest. +One of the Texas Vikings
i just picked up a safari vest from cabelas and it's awesome for geocaching. i can fit both of my gpsr's, compass, gloves, tb's, and all the other stuff i take with me. check it out. I went cheaper and got a fishing vest. All kinds of pockets .Plus it has a large pocket in the back, to put my camel bak in, with ice in it to keep me cool. My partners laugh and hum the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" theme, everytime we go out. But, I do like the vest, keep all my gear in it. Grab my staff, my hat and vest and I'm ready go (but no whip...) +Coffea robusta
I went cheaper and got a fishing vest. All kinds of pockets. Yep me too. Cheapo fishing vest from Longs Drugs. It's got room to carry all the other little things I like to bring, small field guide, various containers and bags for natures "gifts" (bugs, scat, owl pellets). I usually have a field lens too. Oooo and I love cargo pants. Lotsa pockets. Quote Link to comment
magellan315
I got this vest. Liked it because the pockets have a low profile, unlike a fishing vest, so I can wear it when I travel on business. The Clear Creek vest has been on my wish list, just can't come with up with a good enough excuse to buy one. These folsk have some interesting ones, thought this vest has some potential. +The Source
I have 2 GPSrs' also. I upgraded and just kept my old one to use as a back up just incase BUT since I usually go caching with my kids they end up using the other GPSr. J Quote Link to comment
Bag o'Tricks
The Duluth vest is awesome, both from a comfort standpoint (avbl. in summer and winter weights) and from a utility standpoint. LOTS of pockets in and out. For cooler weather check out their Force Nine vest. That has been my choice for geocaching and often eliminates the need for a pack. Generally, I've found the Duluth products to be a real high quality for reasonable prices. Bag o' Tricks Quote Link to comment
+Airmapper
I got an army LBV vest for hunting, but I don't think I'll be wearing it caching. I'll get mistaken for either a terrorist or a lost SWAT team member. Quote Link to comment
+Moose Mob
I like Magellan315's idea of a vest. I like the fact that it doesn't look like a fishing vest as much as, well, a fishing vest. This is for road construction and CITO. It has it's uses, but the fashion police would have a fit. This has no pockets. Quote Link to comment
+JohnnyVegas
I use a vest made by Columia sportswaer. It holds all my GPS, Pocket PC, Map, Compass, Flashlight, Swag, Cell phone, Ham radio and what ever elde I need for a search Quote Link to comment
+Sean Connery
I use Kodak photography vest I bought many years ago. It has numerous pockets on both the inside and outside and in back is a pocket designed to hold a small tripod which would hold the smaller of the two camelbacks. It has worked nicely into fooling muggles in urban settings as I tell them my gpsr is a light meter. Quote Link to comment
+The NEOGeodogs
I've used a cheap photo vest I found on ebayfor the past summer. It worked well, it has so many pockets I was able to leave the cache bag in the truck. (in case you're wondering, no I don't sell photo vests) Quote Link to comment
+CSI:CacheSceneInvestigators
Here's the one my wife bought me, it's from Columbia. It's worked great so far. Columbia Vest During hunting seasons, I wear a reversable camo/orange Bushmaster hunting vest with the orange out. Edited November 23, 2005 by CSI:CacheSceneInvestigators Quote Link to comment

I think I vagely remember that caching trek around Los Angeles. I was impressed, especially as I was carrying all of my geek supplies (digital camera, GPSr, PDA, cell phone, watch) on my person and I really didn't have enough pockets. Quote Link to comment

+Mule Ears
I like the idea of a vest, but I need to carry a lot of water and sometimes other supplies. I end up wearing a pack with accessory pouches on my belt or straps. I sure wish that when manufacturers are looking for a new feature or product that they'd consider folks like us. I'd imagine that long-hiking birders, photographers and other gadget-oriented hikers would really love a hybrid design with lots of front-accessible storage. I'm aware of the load-bearing equipment (LBE) vests for police and military (like the picture in a previous post above), but they're not quite right. Quote Link to comment
+2qwerqE
Wow. You all must be rich folk. Try this link for quality vests at good prices. I bought the safari vest for $40. I like that one of the front pockets is big enough for a water bottle, and the neck is padded sweat and absorbant, so it handles the weight distribution well. Vestmate Super nice people there too! ( and no, I don't know them!) Quote Link to comment
