+Moote Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 If I need to drop off TB's to move on quickly I usually use one of these 2 TB hotels: "Emma's TB Hotel" "MIATBX Final Approach" Which TB Hotels do you like using? Where is your local TB Hotel? Could we do with more of these? Milton (aka Moote) Quote

+The Golem Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I like the idea of this! I'd like to make a couple for Cumbria, maybe one near Carlisle one near Kendal....do you think they'd get much traffic? Quote
+Firth of Forth Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 There are four in Scotland that I know of: Forth 2 North TB Motel which is at the north end of the Forth Raod Bridge Perth TB Hotel Sloch Stagecoach which is on the A9 south of Inverness and The Clydeside TB Hotel near Glasgow airport. +Stuey Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 The South-West Travel Bug Exchange, which is about a mile from the motorway at J29. It's only a short walk to the cache, and it's a large ammo box. Quote

+Moote Posted November 19, 2005 Author Posted November 19, 2005 I like the idea of this! I'd like to make a couple for Cumbria, maybe one near Carlisle one near Kendal....do you think they'd get much traffic? I see no problem with this, just keep in mind that they are usually based near airports, ports, or next to or close to a Motorway junction. Just had a quick look on GC.com and there appears that in the locations you mention there is no TB Hotels so go for it, I think the main problem is that you need the following 1. A big Ammo can or box about 9" * 6" * 12" 2. A good location that is accessible but not too visable 3. A secure hide as these places can hold 10's of TB's at a time 4. They are usually an easy find, as people just want to run and dump or grab 5. TB logging book as well as the Cache logging book 6. You need not place swaps in the box as it is a TB Hotel, but that is not a hard and fast rule If you find a place then put them in the locations you mentioned Milton (aka Moote) Quote
+Kryten Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 (edited) In addition to motorway hotels, caches accessible to city centres which can be used as TB drops by visiting cachers (without transport) are very welcome. It's not necessary for every single cache to be "protected" by a fiendish puzzle, visitors don't have the time or local knowledge required to solve them. Edited November 19, 2005 by McKryton Quote
+Stuey Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I'd not want the responsibility. I was last to find the Southampton TB hotel last year before it got muggled.... Bad luck. If you are going to hide one, make sure it is 100% muggle proof if possible. Quote

I think the Southamton box now resides in Manchester as a TB Hotel Edited November 19, 2005 by Moote Quote
