ShadyTree Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 While caching in Felton, Ca. I found a cell phone. Of course the battery is dead but it seems to be in good condition. No idea how long it has been there, probably was rained on.? If you did lose, email me from my profile, describe you gear and I can drop off at a nearby cache for you. no problem Hope this works, this is my first post. Quote
+Colorado Cacher Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Last count I think I have found three so far. TB's to be? Quote
+Ed & Julie Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Take it to your local police station is the fastest way to get it pack to it's owner. They can look at the ESN (electric serial number, not the battery number) and contact the carrier for the owner information. May be lost, may be stolen...why keep it while looking for a needle in a haystack looking for the owner here? Ed TB&TB Quote

If you believe a geocacher lost it, you may have better luck at posting a note on the cache page. Quote
+GeoRoo Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 If there was a way to charge the battery you could look at the dialed calls. I've found 3 cell phones 2 had dead batteries. I have a multi charger with various plugs and recharged them. Called the first number and asked the person who's phone this was. I'm 3 for 3 on returning cell phones to owners. Quote
+Touchstone Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I added a post to our local Yahoo group thread. There's a fairly busy trail that runs near the cache, so I suspect it was dropped by just a casual hiker in the area. You've probably already looked, but I'd check the recent logs as well. Knowing that cache though, if it was a person that DNF'd it, they may not have posted anything. Good luck and thanks for asking. Quote
