Proposed: General Historic Places

Under [Places > Historic Places] I would like to see a subcategory called general historic places. This would allow one to mark museums, hist sites, hist buildings, etc. When one would travel they could then have the coords to these places. One could also choose the ones in proximity to where they are.

What is a general historic place? All buildings have some kind of history attached to them.

I see where you are coming form. Please let me modify that to read:

 

either state or national historic sites.

There is also the need for more localized historic sites and buildings. Many communities and counties have historical groups that have designated (and signed) many buildings and sites of local historic interest that can be very interesting to visit while traveling.

There is the national register of historic places. There are also historical marker categories available for certain states (and eventually all states).
