I'll admit, I am a coin collector, but I miss being able to watch things moving from cache to cache. So, being kind of a wiseacre myself, we have come up with the "Screw Geocoins" travel bug. I originally posted to the coin thread, but I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in actually using these as travel bugs...like they were meant to. I will be releasing some that I will drill a hole in, and add a laminated instruction sheet. Hopefully, this will keep them circulating. The screws are trackable on gc.com, and will have a custom "screw" shaped icon...not a coin! We are selling them for $7.50 each, and that includes freight and Paypal fees. We will start sending out invoices at the beginning of the week. Link to comment

+Folshen Posted October 31, 2005 Share Posted October 31, 2005 I'd say its a great idea. I only put one USA Geocoin out into the wild and it disappeared rather quickly. For my second one, I turned the Dremil tool loose on it. It's only a "sliver" of a geocoin. Figured nobody would want that in there collection. Perhaps it'll have a longer life span. Link to comment
